Covid-19 burst onto the world stage towards the end of 2019, and within a few months this virus had ravaged the entire world, killing thousands of people and devastating many economies. It is probably the worst disaster of the 21st century.

But despite the many tragedies caused by this disease, it has ignited a slew of creativity. This is best seen in the world of music and videos. There are tens if not hundreds of new songs composed, and new lyrics added to old melodies. Sometimes the words parody our erratic response to this pandemic. Other times the words show our gratitude to the frontline healthcare workers, and sometimes the words express our sympathy for our grieving friend.

I have selected some of my favorite songs below. The first set are parody songs.

The next few songs are specially composed and performed by Singaporeans, whose purpose is to thank all the frontline healthcare workers who have been battling Covid-19 on our behalf. We thank them for their selfless dedication and sacrifice.

I came across some of these choirs which are more classical and ethnic in character. I enjoyed them, and I hope you will too. They are also responses to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Below are some miscellaneous songs that were posted later. There are so many lovely songs and parodies that I'm sorry there just is not enough space to put them all in. Anyway, enjoy!
